In 2011 Captured Tracks and Dark Entries teamed up to re-release a deluxe version their debut LP, “Flesh” (1983) featuring tracks as well from “World Trade EP” (1980) + single material. Jeff & Jane are renowned as one of the most innovative and compelling bands of the “Synth” Movement in America in the early 80’s. Featuring drum machines, synthesizers and the occasional slash of guitar, they created music with both emotion & complexity. Conceived from the remains of their late 1970’s punk band the Rentals, the duo left Boston, MA for a new exploration in the New York No Wave scene in 1980. They hold the honor to open for bands like PIL, Suicide, Siouxie & the Banshees, Duran Duran, Fad Gadget, Lydia Lunch and Sonic Youth. After thirty years, the married artists’ are still together happily making music and enjoying a retired career in Video teaching at the Mass MoCA, as well as managing a vintage art & deco store on campus. We are pleased to present this material for pre-order. If you are interested in acquiring this single for your distribution company please contact me at [email protected] for wholesale prices. EV030 HAND CREAM/CROSSS Split c40
blue cassettes
Hand Cream conjures a brew of clever, charming and haunting punk-rock anthems by female dual-lead vocals. A dark reminiscent, that creates an atmosphere similar to what female lead post-punk & early new-wave groups accomplished in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Crosss return the energy to the desert with a thick and lonesome wall of sound and guitar fusion.
EV029 BLOODHOUSE CS Single c6 Split release w/ Craft Singles)
clear w/ blue shell cassettes
A polarizing combination of heartfelt, melodic voicing pasted on a cloudy, reverberated soundscape. It is both heavy and light. Rock and Roll at harm.
EV025 GRAND TRINE CS Single c10 Split release w/ Craft Singles)
black cassettes
Montreal’s self proclaimed Proto-punk outfit reestablish their line-up as a two-piece. While continuing to define their minimal psych and lo-fi energy they declare a Valium induced trip to the gloomy side.
EV023 LANTERN/ETHER Split C30
blue cassettes
Brother bands LANTERN & THE ETHER continue their exploration into the roots of American Punk while recycling Rock & Roll ethics and classic tape recording methods . Lantern take turn into the deep south channeling their origins with Blues & Folk while sonic-ly and radical-ly distorting the spirits. Psychedelics & minimal approaches are in common, albeit the Ether defeats genre by blasting into new, unknown territory.

PASSION PARTY is the new moniker of Chris Keys, of Seattle based synth-pop group Gape Attack. After issuing multiple cassettes & 7” EPs — Keys decided to leave behind the crumbling post apocalyptic landscape of America for a new start in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. PASSION PARTY makes sexy, dirty, obsessive synth pop for jilted lovers and bitter hearts. Decadent synth lines conjure a lavish atmosphere, a hybrid sound reminiscent of the best bits of PRINCE and classic 90s r&b.

EV016 WICKED CRAFTS No Cure EP C26 (Split release w/ Campaign For Infinity)
red cassettes
Haunting and hollow music — equal parts nightmare-jangle pop and manic post-punk screech. Born and raised in Hong Kong, but now residing in Montreal QB Canada, Shawn Tony Hui imbues his music with the claustrophobic atmosphere of his hometown. Drum machines pound out a relentless militant backbeat, while treated guitars hover and hiss menacingly. Combining found sounds, pre-programmed electronic drum beats and soft-synths with live guitar and bass, its a sound that is as firmly rooted in the lineage of british guitar music — as it is futuristic and cold. Featuring members of Rape Faction.

“One fateful evening at the Monroeville Music Center, the TI99/4A was powered up and the terminal, via the speech emulator, haacked [sic] out its bowelgorithms [sic] creating the most unique death rattle. Luckily, for your enjoyment, this event was recorded on a Craig reel-to-reel tape recorder and is accompanied on the Ensoniq ESQ-1 by a bright young student from the music center: Craig Storm (no relation)”
